Time To Schedule Heat Pump Maintenance: Contact Air-Rite TodayA heat pump system can be an energy-efficient way to cool and heat your home; such systems work especially well for those who live in warmer climates like the Fort Worth/Arlington area. However, to ensure your system is working properly, you should schedule heat pump maintenance appointments regularly. This can help make heating and cooling more efficient, which will make your indoor environment feel more comfortable.

Schedule heat pump maintenance
You should have your heat pump system checked over at least once a year. There can be a 10-25 percent difference in the energy consumption of a well-maintained system compared to one that hasn’t been serviced in some time.

When you schedule heat pump maintenance, a technician will:

  • Check and repair any leakage in the ducts.
  • Ensure the filters, indoor coil, blower and ducts are clean and have no obstructions.
  • Make sure refrigerant isn’t leaking anywhere.
  • Tighten belts and check too see if they’re worn out.
  • Lubricate the motors.
  • Tighten and clean electric terminal connections and apply non-conductive coating, if needed.

Things you can do
In addition to the work done during an annual maintenance appointment, there are a few things you can do to help ensure your system’s working well. For example, you can clean or change your filters every one to six months. Clear any debris on the outside unit and clean the blower’s fan blades when needed. You can also clean the outdoor coils when you notice dirt on them.
